Save this for elections information.

With the Democratic, Green and Libertarian national conventions behind us and the Republican national convention happening now and ending this Thursday (Aug. 24-27), it’s time to focus on the next 69 days in our countdown to November 3rd.

Saturday, September 19th marks 45 days until Election Day, so we’re holding a special PFLAG Connects meeting to talk all things voting and PFLAG. Join PFLAG National Executive Director Brian K. Bond for meaningful ways PFLAGers can take action on our four Election Day focus points.

PFLAG Votes 2020: Registration. Education. Mobilization. Protection.

National Voter Registration Day is September 22nd, so check out the virtual and in-person events taking place. And remember to pay attention to voter registration dates in your state, and remind everyone you know to register. If you are a uniformed service member or U.S. citizen living abroad, you, too, should register to vote.

More than 500,000 absentee ballots have been rejected so far in 2020 primaries across the U.S., many due to lacking a signature on the submitted ballot. Check out your state’s tally in the linked article above, and learn more about why supporting the USPS is critical to getting out the vote.

Have you taken the PFLAG #2020VotePlan challenge yet? No time like the present. It’s a great way to make a plan to vote and get others to make their plan, too! Visit pflag.org/2020voteplan and make your plan today.

While vote-by-mail is a safe option, there are people who will need to go to their voting location. For this reason, and due to the pandemic, there is a dire need for people in good health and at low risk for contracting COVID-19 to become Poll Workers. For PFLAGers who fit this criteria, this is an excellent non-partisan activity to engage in for voter protection. Next Tuesday, September 1st is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day. In addition, the National Association of Secretaries of State offers a handy tool to become a Poll Worker in your state.
