John,
Last week, Senator Markey picked a fight over transparency.
So let’s talk about what he is hiding.
If you’re tired of Washington politicians playing by one set of rules and being hypocritical, chip in today to help us fight back.
Because that is exactly what is happening here.
Markey attacked Seth for taking a standard filing extension, even though Markey took the same kind of extension during his 2020 primary against Joe Kennedy in a competitive Senate race.
He tried to make Seth’s filing date sound suspicious, even though Seth filed his federal financial disclosure on June 25th, the exact same day Markey filed his own disclosure six years ago.
And while Markey touts transparency, he files his taxes separately from his wife and keeps more than half of his family’s investments out of public view. That means we don’t have the full picture of his and his family’s wealth.
Seth files jointly. His family’s return is available to the media, and his financial disclosure is publicly available on our campaign website while it is processed.
Markey can keep pointing fingers, but voters deserve the full picture.
Our end-of-quarter deadline is coming up fast, and we need to show that Massachusetts is ready for something better than the same old Washington attacks.
Chip in today to help us fight back and finish the quarter strong.
