Friend, On Monday, my opponent Jason Smith, who voted against support for the U.S. Postal Service this past weekend, declared that the USPS and the fight to keep it operational is “nonsense.” I’m not only disappointed and frustrated, I’m angry. As a largely rural District, my neighbors and I rely on USPS to keep our businesses afloat, vote in elections, receive medication, pay bills, and stay in touch with our friends and family. USPS is absolutely vital to rural America, and I’ve heard from thousands of my District’s residents this week who are terrified of the prospect of losing this service. And all their current Representative has to say about these concerns is: “nonsense.” Look, we have a tough fight ahead of us. Smith is bankrolled by hundreds of the largest corporations in the country, and his ability to get his message out to voters - as hateful and inaccurate as that message is - is a serious advantage in this race. And yet, we have a huge advantage that Smith truly does not have: the support of thousands of people across the District who not only deserve better leadership, but who also desperately need it. While Smith has been hiding from the public—and hiding his voting record against Coronavirus relief and USPS support—I’ve been on the ground, hosting over 30 public town halls and working for results for Missourians. In fact, I often field calls from residents who think I am already their Representative in Congress because Jason is totally absent from the lives and struggles of his constituents. My neighbors deserve better. They need better. We simply cannot afford as a country to leave these people behind. We have to stand up for everyone if we are to defeat Trumpism and win in November. Can you rush a donation today to help us in the fight ahead? Standing proudly shoulder to shoulder with you,
