Hey John,
Early in my career, Sen. Bernie Sanders gave me a piece of advice I’ve
never forgotten.
He said, “In politics, people succeed either by being really good at lying
or really good at telling the truth. You strike me as someone who’s not
good at lying — so your job is to get really good at telling the truth.”
So today, I’m going to tell you some truths about our campaign.
We’re leading in both the primary and general election polling. We have
the momentum to win.
But our AIPAC-backed opponent has nearly caught up to us after $30+
million worth of ads.
Tomorrow night marks our biggest fundraising hurdle yet — our last FEC
end-of-quarter deadline before the August 4th primary.
This is, no exaggeration, a make-or-break moment for our campaign.
Before midnight tomorrow, we need to raise as much as we can to prove that
a people-powered campaign — one that rejects AIPAC and corporate PAC money
— has enough resources to take on the establishment and win.
Finally, one more piece of truth: I don’t love asking people for money.
But because this is a 100% people-powered campaign, I’m relying on folks
