John,
For years, I’ve worked to make sure the DEA and federal task forces have the resources they need to combat cartels and keep fentanyl off our streets. That’s always been the goal: to support law enforcement so they can do their jobs and keep our communities safe.
That’s why it’s so troubling to now learn that the DEA may have allowed fentanyl to reach our communities.

After fighting to fund and empower these agencies, the idea that their actions could have made the crisis worse is not just disappointing — it’s a breach of the public’s trust.
That’s exactly why, along with our all-Democratic New Mexico delegation, I’m calling for answers and full accountability.
We pushed for resources so they could protect us, not potentially endanger us. We deserve to know exactly what happened, why it happened, and how we make sure it never happens again.
This is about accountability. It’s about making sure the tools and funding we fight for are used correctly and effectively to save lives, not put them at further risk.
That’s why I’m focused on our fight to stay in Congress, take back the House, and deliver the accountability New Mexicans deliver. Help me stay in that fight by chipping in $10 before the June 30 FEC deadline.
