Brandt: Our campaign is reviewing the most recent fundraising numbers as we prepare to meet our end-of-month goal, and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you and provide a quick update.
This month, your generosity has been overwhelming. August is a notoriously tough time for fundraising, but you haven’t wavered in your support of our campaign.
As I talk with folks from all corners of the state on Zoom and over the phone, I’m hearing over and over again that North Carolinians know what’s at stake this fall, and are ready to vote accordingly. That’s why knowing that this people-powered team has my back means the world to me.
We know this will be one of the most expensive races in the country. So, we need to be thinking ahead to make sure we have the resources to spread our message across the state over the next few months.
I know it comes as no surprise to you that we expect this race to be a squeaker — and Mitch McConnell and his allies in Washington are already funding attack ads against me, so we know this is just the beginning of what’s to come.
This team has never let me down, which is why I have to ask: Are you able to chip in today? If every person receiving this email pitches in $5 (or more!), our finance team will be able to confidently report that we are in good shape in the lead-up to Election Day — it’s crunch time, Brandt.

Democrats won’t be able to take back the Senate majority if we don’t defeat Thom Tillis, which means there’s a lot riding on this race. McConnell knows that too (hence, the attack ads) — which is just another reason we need to be prepared to fight back against whatever he throws our way.
I’m so grateful for your support. The pressure is on for us to deliver a victory — but working together, I know we’ll build an operation strong enough to flip this seat.
