  • How many jobs will California kill?
    Destruction wrought by California's Assembly Bill 5 spreads, as Uber and Lyft threaten to close all operations in California after the state expanded the definition of "employee" to include the companies' drivers. This job-killing is deliberate, designed to benefit Big Labor by forcing the workers either to unionize or lose their jobs. CRC's Michael Watson reports on the state and national implications here.
  • What did Soros’s $708 million buy?
    Last week, billionaire financier George Soros celebrated his 90th birthday. That's a big number, but it's dwarfed by another Soros number: $708 million -- the amount his two principal foundations distributed in 2018 to fight for abortion, tear down voter ID laws, and generally fund leftist groups.   • Who is financing the push to reintroduce gray wolves in Colorado?
    In November, Colorado voters will face a ballot initiative to reintroduce gray wolves into western Colorado -- a major source of contention between local ranchers and national environmentalists. The "dark money" funding the ballot initiative was funneled through a nonprofit based in San Francisco. CRC's Hayden Ludwig follows the money trail here.
  • Why have some groups -- whose missions are unrelated to gun control -- taken anti-gun positions?
    When an interest group takes a position on an issue unrelated to its mission, it creates problems for its members who disagree with that position. This problem is prevalent on the Left, which often coerces groupthink. Abortion is one such leftist issue. Gun control is another. The American Bar Association, NAACP, labor unions, and major medical associations have all staked out anti-gun positions. CRC's Robert Stilson exposes this lock-step alignment on the Left here.
