Happy Women’s Equality Day! The day is dedicated to commemorating the 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment which gave women the constitutional right to vote.
This was a historic milestone for women, but it’s important to remember that the 19th Amendment didn’t originally include all women. Women of color didn’t have the right to cast a ballot until years later.
And to this day, we’re still fighting for true equality for all women in areas like pay, housing, employment, representation, and more. I’m fighting to become the first woman ever to represent our district, and I will continue advocating for complete women’s equality across the country.
That’s why today, on Women's Equality Day, I’m joining other advocates to demand that The Equal Rights Amendment is finally ratified. The ERA would establish women’s equal rights under the U.S. Constitution, which would help prevent discrimination and help women overcome the barriers we face in our country.
Will you stand with me and with all women in our fight for equality by signing our petition to support the passage of The Equal Rights Amendment? Add your name now to demand that the Senate remove the ratification deadline so the ERA can be passed immediately >>
Thanks for fighting back with me,
Quinn
