UAF launches the Beirut Crisis Fund

UAF has launched the Beirut Crisis Fund to support the women and trans activists working on the frontlines in Lebanon!

Now is the moment to stand with the people of Lebanon. As they navigate through the aftermath of the explosion in Beirut, feminist activists are rising up and demanding change to reshape their society. The recent explosion in Beirut – one of the most powerful explosions in history – has exacerbated the multiple crises facing Lebanon, from political corruption and the economic crash, to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I'm excited to continue working with Urgent Action Fund in a leadership role, as Deputy Director. It has been an honor to be the Director of Programs and work with such an incredible team who I have learned from, grown with, and had a front-row seat to witness their brilliance. At this transformative global moment, I am looking forward to expanding the breadth and depth of our work towards the vision of radical liberation and justice for women, trans, and gender non-conforming activists and movements."

Help us in welcoming UAF's new Director of Partnerships, Theary Chan!

"It is an honor and a privilege to join UAF, an organization unified in its ideals towards justice and equity across all feminists movements.  I look forward to joining my passionate movement colleagues and partners - across our sister funds and partnerships in resourcing all the inflection and pivot points necessary for social, economic, gender, and racial justice. It is a realized dream that I get to wake up, every day and work for everything that is possible through amplifying the courage of each human rights defender and the wisdom of the collective."
