Trump just killed a housing bill that passed 85-5 in the Senate.
Not because it was bad policy. Because he wants something else first.
He wants the SAVE America Act. And if you haven't heard of it yet, you need to.
It changes the rules for voter registration right before an election. Less than five months from Election Day.
If it passes, every registered voter in America has to show up in person to their county election office with a passport or a birth certificate to stay on the rolls.
Not a driver's license. Not a REAL ID. A passport or a birth certificate.
Over 146 million Americans don't have a valid passport. Millions more have a birth certificate that doesn't match their current name. And if you've moved, changed your name, or switched party registration since you last registered? You'd have to do it all over again.
This isn't about election integrity. Noncitizen voting happens so rarely that researchers struggle to find examples. This is about making it harder to vote. Full stop.
