I just spoke with my finance team ahead of our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline – and they told me we are tracking behind our fundraising benchmarks before Tuesday’s end-of-quarter deadline

Folks, falling short of our fundraising goals gives my team two options:

Option A: We accept that we will come up short on our goal, and hope that committed supporters tune in and get involved over the final few months ahead before voters go to the polls.

Option B: Reach out to some of our top grassroots supporters and humbly ask them to pitch in and help us make up the difference.

With so much at stake in the midterms, and critical, battleground races here in Virginia that could decide who controls Congress this November, we can’t afford to fall behind. So I’ve chosen Option B.

Here’s the deal: this fundraising deadline is this campaign’s final quarterly deadline before early voting begins in the general election and the work of persuading voters, connecting with Virginians in swing counties and neighborhoods, and turning folks out to the polls truly kicks into high gear.

We need to make sure we have the resources to win BIG this November and elect Democrats in every corner of Virginia. And that starts with hitting this fundraising goal.
