John,
Have you been watching the Republican National Convention?
Yesterday’s theme was “Land of Promise.” Today’s theme is “Land of Opportunity.”
I wanted to take a moment to touch on this, because it’s something I know a great deal about – and the stakes are high.
President Trump and our Republican Party are fighting to Keep America Great – to keep the American Dream alive for our children, grandchildren, and generations to come – while the Democrats seek to drag our great country down the path to socialist ruin.
This is the great truth that many Democrats refuse to recognize: America is a beacon of hope to people around the world, because it is the BEST place in the world for people of all backgrounds to rise out of poverty to prosperity.
I’d like to share a bit of my personal story.
I wasn’t born into privilege. Far from it, in fact. From an early age, I learned the value of hard work... and I put my strong work ethic to work to accomplish my goals.
As a child, I grew up on an Air Force base. I developed a deep appreciation for the tough jobs our men and women in uniform sign up for, and the sacrifices that military families make for the greater good of our country.
In high school, I earned an Architectural Drafting Certificate, and utilized the skills I learned to work and pay my way through college, earning a degree in Engineering. I went on to work as an Aerospace Engineer for Rockwell, and begin several small business ventures – including writing computer programs for businesses, real estate, and hog farming.
In 1999, I literally sold the farm to buy two McDonald’s restaurants in Muskogee... and later started an organization that owns multiple McDonald’s restaurants and employs hundreds of people in the greater Tulsa area.
I know what it means to live the American Dream, John. And I’m proud to fight for the future of the American Dream in Congress.
Thank you, as always, for standing with me in this fight.
The 60-day drive to November 3rd is coming up fast... and I’ll be counting on your help along the way!
For Oklahoma & America,
Kevin Hern
