Dear John,

The Texas Democratic Convention is taking place this week and we wish
everyone there good luck and good times!

We’re excited for all the great work Democrats are doing, excited for what
we know are going to be great speeches by the candidates. But we’re
skipping the convention this year. There’s important work for us to do
across Texas right now.

Just over this past week Powered by People volunteers added over 800 new
voters to our network (registering 247 of them to vote). We’ve held 45
voter registration events across 19 cities at concerts, during student
orientations, at pride events, Juneteenth events, ice cream shops, and
more. We also activated 267 volunteers across the state who are personally
following up with each new voter we add to our network.

I spent yesterday with our volunteers at El Paso Community College,
talking with, registering and committing to staying in touch with the new
voters who will make the difference in November. It was great to actually
talk with -- and listen to -- young people who hold the outcome of this
election in their hands. Even better to get them registered and make a
personal connection that I can follow up on over the next 4 months.

In addition to EPCC this week we are on Texas Southern University’s campus
engaging students at freshman orientation. Also at University of Houston
Downtown, registering incoming students at freshman orientation this
Saturday… catching UT San Antonio students during summer school… and we'll
be at San Antonio’s Pride Festival, El Paso’s Sun City Pride, and
Houston's Sober & Proud Zero-Proof Pub Crawl and Pride Happy Hour at Play
in Houston as well.

Y ademas… We'll be at Axelrad in Houston for Cumbia Libre night, Emerald
City Dispensary + Lounge in Fort Worth, and Amy’s Ice Cream at the
Arboretum in Austin… Resilient Mini Flea Market in Houston and supporting
an event with Revival Run Club… and lots more.

Best wishes to all our friends at the state convention, we’ll be missing
you! But know that we’re excited to join you in supporting James, Gina and
the amazing people running alongside them. And the best way we can think
of doing that is being out there right now, reaching, registering and
turning out the margin of victory in November.

[ [link removed] ]Please consider donating to keep our volunteers in the field with the
voters who are the key to making James Talarico the next Senator and Gina
Hinojosa the next Governor of the great state of Texas!

Beto
