Here is why June 30th is an important date for this campaign.

This is the very first public financial deadline since Gina officially became the Democratic nominee for Governor of Texas, and everyone will be looking at our final numbers to judge whether our grassroots campaign has what it takes to win this November.

On July 15th, these reports will become public record. Abbott and his team will see exactly what we have to work with — but we’ll also get our first real glimpse at his war chest since the beginning of the year.

We already know Abbott has over $100 million war chest sitting in his account. But we also know how he’s filling his coffers: with pay-to-play cash from corporate special interests and wealthy donors whom he rewards with lucrative state contracts.

We don’t need to match Greg Abbott dollar-for-dollar to beat him. But we do need enough to build a competitive campaign, run ads, keep our organizers on the ground, and pay our bills.
