Last week, the Pentagon told Congress it needs about $80 billion to pay for the war in Iran — a war Donald Trump started on his own, never brought to Congress, and did not win. Fifteen Americans in uniform are dead, prices jumped at the pump and the grocery store, and now the bill lands on you.

I flew F/A-18s off a carrier deck for 21 years — the same jets we sent over Iran. I know what those missions cost, in dollars and in lives. And I know none of it happens without a Congress willing to rubber-stamp it.

When the House had its chance to rein this war in, Rob Wittman voted no. He voted to let one man wage a disastrous war alone.

The cure is a House majority that will actually do its job and make this President answer — and that majority gets built by campaigns like this one clearing bars like the one right in front of us.
