Hi John,

Companies are fleeing liberal-controlled states to more business-friendly conservative states with fewer regulations and taxes. The latest? Uber and Lyft are threatening to pull out of California if forced to adhere to their strict, new labor laws. The beauty of the gig economy is the flexibility and freedom offered to contractors. By forcing Uber and Lyft to classify their independent contractors as employees, California is risking the employment of hundreds of thousands of drivers during a time of steep unemployment and great fiscal uncertainty for many families. They cannot afford to lose their jobs if the ridesharing services leave the state.

California liberals are overregulating the gig economy, hurting Californians in their hour of need. These radical policies are forcing innovative companies to leave, taking jobs and tax dollars with them.

Sincerely,

Casey Dietrich
