John,

For 30 years, GLSEN has helped to provide resources and support as LGBTQ students grow into leadership roles in their schools and community; advocate on behalf of others; and achieve equity in classrooms.

Their voices will not be silenced and we applaud that they are standing in support of Black lives: [link removed]

The students we work with are part of the most politically active youth demographic in the country. And yet, we also know that 21% of LGBTQ+ eligible voters are NOT registered. So GLSEN has launched the “Break the Silence: Your Vote, Your Voice” campaign to encourage students to register to vote and make a difference in local, state, and federal elections. Every vote is a step toward a more inclusive and equal society—for today and for the future.

“Imagine if every LGBTQ young person registered to vote and took action to protect LGBTQ students? That's how we'll break the silence and build the future we need and deserve.” – Jess, CA

We’re grateful for the support from so many of you as we connect LGBTQ students across the country and empower young activists. As someone who understands that this November will be one of the most important elections in history, you know how essential this outreach is and how desperately we need these young voices at the ballot box.

Share this resource with first-time voters and/or encourage underaged youth to promise to vote—and help GLSEN ensure that every young person who can vote, does vote!
