We’re sure you get a lot of fundraising emails asking you to chip in. We want to take a moment to explain why Powered by People is different and what we’re doing to help James Talarico win in November.
Powered by People is the only organization in Texas that is focused on expanding the electorate.
Beto lost to Ted Cruz in 2018 by just 215,000 votes or less than 3%. He then started Powered by People after that Senate campaign to ensure that Democrats win the next time we have a big chance in Texas.
Now, with the corrupt Ken Paxton facing James Talarico in November, this is our chance to finally flip a Texas Senate seat. We’re putting in the work, day in and day out, to reach and register new voters who all too often have been left behind by the political establishment. We’re going everywhere: no county too red or too blue.
All of our work is grassroots funded. We don’t take a dime from corporate PACs and Beto doesn’t take a salary from Powered by People. Our average donation this year is just $22.
