Tell your senators it’s time to get rid of the anti-public lands zealot William
Perry Pendley at the Bureau of Land Management.TAKE ACTION

[[link removed]]John,

Thanks to thousands of wildlife champions who wrote to their senators to oppose
the nomination of William Perry Pendley to lead the Bureau of Land Management,
President Trump decided to withdraw his nomination. It is terrific news:
speaking out can really make a difference for wildlife and our wild public
lands.

But our work is not over. William Perry Pendley is still on the job as the de-facto leader of the Bureau
of Land Management. The administration withdrew his nomination but did not
remove him from the job. This is wrong.

Tell your senators that Mr. Pendley must be removed immediately from his
ill-gotten position at the Bureau of Land Management.

REMOVE PENDLEY
[[link removed]]

Mr. Pendley has spent the past three decades arguing that the federal government
shouldn’t own public lands. He’s fought against tribal communities and sided
with armed insurgents against Bureau of Land Management employees. For the past
year at the bureau, he has tried to auction off land to oil and gas companies
for drilling near some of our great land treasures, including Arches National
Park in Utah and Chaco Canyon, a sacred site in New Mexico.

We entrust the federal government to carefully manage these lands for multiple
uses so they will survive and thrive for generations to come. Unfortunately, William Perry Pendley doesn’t believe public lands should be
public and instead, he wants to sell them off to the oil industry and others. Take action to help put a stop to this.

For the past year, Mr. Pendley has offered up millions of acres of public lands
to oil and gas companies in critical sage grouse habitat, key winter range for
mule deer and elk or near lands that are cherished by outdoor enthusiasts from
all across the country.

Prior to his tenure at the agency, Mr. Pendley spent his entire career fighting
against public lands, against Native American communities and against the very
employees he now manages. He is the wrong man to lead the agency that manages
more than 245 million acres of public lands. It’s time for him to go.

Tell your senators to remove William Perry Pendley from the Bureau of Land
Management.
[[link removed]] If he wasn’t good enough to be nominated, he’s not good enough to serve in a
“temporary” capacity. It’s time for him to be relieved of his duties.

Thank you for lending your voice today for wildlife and the lands they call
home.

Sincerely,

Tracy Stone-Manning
