Team, I hope you didn’t watch the Republican convention last night.
Trump invited Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who pointed guns at peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters, to speak at his convention. And what did they do? They used their time to fear-monger and tell lies about a policy Julián Castro finalized as HUD Secretary to guarantee fair housing to all Americans.
This is Donald Trump’s closing argument: to undermine the work of leaders like Secretary Castro, President Obama, and Vice President Biden to desegregate our neighborhoods. Of course, it’s not surprising--Donald Trump got his start in business by being sued by the federal government for racial discrimination.
Trump and his right wing buddies are doubling down on their divisive and racist rhetoric. They think they can win reelection by stoking fear and attacking the civil rights progress made under Secretary Castro to guarantee fair housing to all.
It’s never been more important to elect bold candidates who will defend progress we’ve made and work to expand it in the years ahead. We need your help to get it done. Can you make a contribution right now to ensure our candidates are victorious in November? [[link removed]]

This week you’re going to hear nothing but lies and division from the Republican convention. Donald Trump is counting on drumming up enough fear to keep people home on Election Day.
The McCloskeys pointed guns at peaceful Black Lives Matter protestors. Now they’re the centerpiece of Trump’s campaign agenda to further segregate our neighborhoods. It’s white nationalism at work.
We need to send a message that we won’t be intimidated. We will continue to say Black Lives Matter. We will continue to fight for fair housing for all Americans. And we will build a nation where everyone counts, not just wealthy, bigoted people like the Trumps and McCloskeys.
We won’t let them win. But we’re counting on your support to make sure that happens. You can help us do just that by making a contribution right now to power our get out the vote efforts. [[link removed]]
Secretary Castro will keep fighting for an America where your zip code or the color of your skin doesn’t determine your opportunity to be successful. It’s going to take all of us working together to win that fight.
Thank you for your support,
