John,

Our activism to protect the vote in Maine this election is working-- because of MCV members like you!

Since Beth last emailed, MCV and our democracy coalition partners have asked the Mills administration to take bold and immediate action to protect the integrity of the election and ensure all voters can safely cast ballots. Read our letter here >> [link removed]

Gov. Mills is likely to take executive action soon regarding how the election will be run.

Our effort to make sure this election is safe and fully participatory is possible with support from you and other conservation voters across the state. The election is still 70 days away, and this is just the first step to protect the integrity of the most important election in a generation.

Will you chip in $35, $50, or whatever you are able to protect our election system here in Maine? Click here to make a contribution >> [link removed]

Thank you,

Abbie

Friend,

One hundred years ago, white women were guaranteed the constitutional right to vote in the United States. Decades later, after hard fought civil rights victories, women of color were finally afforded the same rights.

Here at MCV, we stand in honor of the suffragists who fought for the critical laws that protect voter’s rights: Susan B. Anthony. Mary Church Terrell. Adelina Otero-Warren. Lucretia Mott. Seraph Young. Alice Paul. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee. Zitkála-Šá.

Today,  as we honor those before us, we face yet another threat to our right to vote. The Trump administration’s systematic attempts to suppress our votes — during a pandemic, no less — would enrage the brave women who fought so hard for equal access to the ballot.

We're enraged, too, and we won't stand for it — but we need your help. In this important election year, MCV is doubling down on efforts to promote absentee voting and recruit poll workers to ensure Maine people do not have to choose between protecting their health and exercising their right to vote.

If you are able, please click here to make a donation today to our voter protection efforts across Maine. Your contribution today will go a long way to ensure more Mainers can safely and securely cast their ballots >> [link removed]

We can't take on this fight alone, and the role that you and I play to ensure voter turnout couldn’t be more important than it is right now.

Thank you for ensuring voting rights in Maine!

Beth Ahearn, Director of Government Affairs
