Hi John,

There’s only one week left to enter our Nature Nearby Photo Contest! Thank you to everyone who’s already entered. If you haven’t yet, email us a photo of nature in your neighborhood (at [email protected]) for a chance to win!

We’ll be revealing the winning photo at our Virtual Annual Celebration for the Environment pre-show on September 11th. Make sure to tune in to see if you’re the grand-prize winner! As a fun bonus prize, we'll be sending all of the finalists a collection of frameable postcards featuring the winning photos.

In the meantime, I’ve been posting some of the entries on our Facebook and Instagram pages to share a bit of brightness with our members. Here are a few more photos!

Ann H. from Portland sent us this close-up of a bearded iris, which she took “on one of my many walks to help get me through the days.”

Richard K. from Portland took a picture of these amazing barred owls just fifteen feet from his house!

And Jay S. from Hood River ventured up to Cloud Cap to capture this magnificent photo of Comet Neowise from 6,000 feet elevation.

I hope you’re enjoying this late stretch of summer, and I look forward to seeing your photos!

Thank you,

Francesca Varela
