Nearly 9 In 10 Americans Distrust AI

Trust seems like an odd term to use. What would you be using it for that would require trust? If there’s a problem with what AI is giving you, at the end of the day it’s most likely a result of the prompt you’re giving it. If you asked a friend for information and it didn’t seem quite right, you’d do a little more digging and verify the information. Does that mean you distrust your friend?

Parents Send 6-Year-Old Child to the Grocery Store Alone After Months of Preparation

What age did you start doing things on your own? I was out playing with other kids and no adults at 5-6, but I’m not sure Misty would send me to the grocery store on my own today, let alone when I was six

Also Worth A Look…

  • Five-minute walk offsets the harm of sitting too long - Maybe you could go for a short walk while you’re listening to the podcast. We’re saving lives here at News Sidequest

  • Pop Songs Have Grown More Immoral, Meaner Over Past 60 Years - That’s probably true, but I also thinks that’s true about pop culture across the board. I don’t think it’s much of a stretch to say “It’s Always Sunny” is significantly more edgy than “The Andy Griffith Show.”

  • Millennials And Gen Z’ers, What’s An “Old Person” Habit You Used To Mock But Now Fully Swear By? - Daily vitamins and complaining about the weather

  • Why these adults are suddenly obsessed with a kids toy from the late ’90s - I’m not sure this is really anything new, there were plenty of Boomers and even earlier generations who went in search of re-living their youth through the acquisition of tchotchkes. What’s the toy you’d want to have back? I had a Knight Rider car I was particularly fond of as a young future podcaster

  • Study Finds Many Older Adults Will Improve Over Time–Depending on Their Mindset - What’s the old saying? Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right

  • 13-year-old climbs out of Disneyland’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride, slides down 50-foot drop - Forget the dinosaurs themselves, this is why a “Jurassic Park” scenario would end badly

  • Woman dies in exorcism ‘carried out by friend who claims he was expelling her demons’ - I know we live in an age where there’s a YouTube tutorial on literally everything, but there are things that you probably shouldn’t do as a DIY project

  • Mutant sewer rats spreading through major US cities as scientists discover disturbing DNA changes - Master Splinter is just looking for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They’re out late again

  • Gracie the Giraffe Goes Missing in Texas - They’re offering a $5,000 reward. Who wants to go on a trip to Texas and find a giraffe?

  • Massive pod of dolphins sighted cavorting off the California coast - Just what we needed, now the dolphins have had enough of our nonsense and are ganging up on us
