That story first broke in July, John. But it’s now nearly the end of August, which means that $43 million in fall ads has either already been spent or soon will be.

We know that ME-02 is one of their top targets, because dark money groups like this have already spent boatloads of cash on the GOP primary for this seat. And now that we’re in the general election, those groups have focused their efforts behind our opponent.

All of this means that our path toward re-election here in Maine is about to get even more intense -- and expensive.
