We only need 5 more House Members’ signatures to guarantee Veterans’ disability compensation and end the “wounded veterans tax” for good!

If discharged, we could stop Republicans from cutting $60 billion in disability compensation for future veterans. Mind you, this would pay for their extremist Department of Defense that already has a $1.5 trillion budget.

A few weeks ago, I initiated a discharge petition to force an immediate House vote on the bipartisan Richard Star Act ([link removed]) .

If passed, the bill would finally end the “wounded veteran tax,” which forces more than 54,000 combat-injured veterans to forfeit their military retirement pay in order to receive VA disability compensation at a dollar‑for‑dollar exchange.

On the very first day, 157 members of Congress signed my petition. But Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to allow a vote and preventing Republicans from signing.

This isn’t a partisan issue, John – the Richard Star Act already has 330 bipartisan cosponsors in Congress.
