Hi, Friend—We just wanted to follow up on Alyse’s email yesterday. She laid out our absentee vote by mail strategy and how we need to $25,000 in our Vote by Mail Fund to make it happen.

Will you chip in today? We’re hoping to hit our goal before tomorrow at midnight.

Subject: Our strategy to get out the vote

Friend,

Due to the pandemic, this election is unlike any other in Alaskan history. Conventional campaign strategy is out the window, and we’ve had to get creative and find new ways of gaining the votes we need to win.

Usually, campaigns are counting down to Election Day, and that’s where we focus most of our get out the vote efforts. But this year, the safest way to vote is by requesting absentee ballots and mailing them in. In this month’s primary, there were more absentee ballots cast than in any election in Alaska’s history. We expect that the November election will surpass that record.

This means our “get out the vote” strategy requires significantly more organization and resources, and we’ve begun these efforts earlier than ever.

We need more staff, more mailers, and more ads that explain to voters how to navigate the absentee ballot process. We’ve laid a plan to make it all happen, but now we need the resources to make it happen. That’s why today we are launching our $25,000 Vote by Mail Fund. Will you be a part of these efforts by chipping in today?

With your contribution, we will be:

1. Educating voters on how to submit an absentee ballot request

2. Checking-in with voters to make sure they’ve received their absentee ballots in the mail

3. Following up to remind voters to drop their ballots in the mail or at a drop-off site

4. Following up again to make sure voters check to see if the Elections Board received their votes in time

Every dollar you give goes towards gaining the votes we need to win. Please, give what you can today to help us make sure every Alaskan’s voice is heard during this election.

Gratefully,

Alyse
