Action Alert: RULEMAKING

The Administrative Code for elections is just as important as legislation. Many of the rules in the Code need to be revised. Auditor Dave Boliek has opened Rulemaking to public comment. It is imperative that election integrity prevail and our input is heard. Please participate.

There are 15 Election Rules in the queue for public comment by 14 July 2026. An in-person public meeting on these 15 rules will be held at 10AM on 29 June in Raleigh. Thus far, the NCEIT team has analyzed and researched Photo ID (2) and Voting Site Rules (4). We will have the remainder of them in the next few weeks. The rules pertain to Absentee Voting (6 rules); Recount Rules (3 Rules). FYI: The NCSBE website for details on commenting and participating in the review process is at this link Rulemaking | NCSBE

Please Choose one or more of the Rules below. Please rephrase the Suggestions and its Rationale in your own words so the NCSBE treats each submission separately. Each Rule has a separate entry portal for Public Comment. The directions are on each link for your convenience. Thank you.

Your Rules Team is far from finished. Absentee Voting and Recount are next.

After that, we will draft 'new' Rules. It's been a 'work in progress.' It's fits and starts and lots of re-writes and Zoom calls. Time! Time! Time!
