Dear John,

The headline declares: “A lesbian baker in Detroit got an anti-gay cake order. She baked it anyway.”

This attention-grabbing title, recently posted on TODAY.com, clearly tries to pit the actions of the Michigan cake artist against those of Colorado cake artist Jack Phillips. Jack has endured three lawsuits, including one that ended in victory at the U.S. Supreme Court, for declining to design custom cakes with messages that conflict with his faith.
