Louisiana has become 2026’s key flashpoint in the battle against the rise of American fascism. 

Following the Supreme Court’s disastrous Callais ruling, the far-right was granted unprecedented powers to implement a white supremacist political agenda that involves the elimination of every Black-majority Congressional district in America. 

Before the ink on the ruling had even dried, the Louisiana GOP moved immediately to carry out a coup. They declared a state of emergency and suspended our Congressional elections. Then they eliminated one of our two Black-majority districts, pending an upcoming court decision our 2nd Black majority district could soon follow. 

Backing their coup was the US National Guard who MAGA deployed to New Orleans in the run up to their assault. Now, as a troubling sign of what could soon come, their deployment has been extended. 

In the last 4 months Democrats have pulled off two heroic victories that call into question MAGA’s hold on the red stronghold of Louisiana:

In a February special election for a deep red MAGA State House seat that went Trump by 13 pts in 2024, a Dem didn’t just win: she won big — defeating a diehard MAGA Republican w/ Trump’s “total and complete” endorsement by 24 points. A 37 point overperformance. 

Then, in our May 16th election so many women and Black voters turned out that we successfully defeated all 5 of MAGA's amendments by over 20 pts. AND Democrat Jamie Davis advanced into the runoff for US Senate. 

Now MAGA could very well lose a US Senate seat in the reddest of red states. The extension of the National Guard’s deployment to Louisiana is intertwined. It is an implied threat to use force if we buck their stranglehold over our state. 

January 6th failed because it was carried out by disorganized far-right militias. When they have to contest the next Democratic victory, they don’t plan to make that same mistake, this time their coup will be backed by military force. They just did it in May and if Democrats continue their streak of Louisiana victories they plan to do it again. 

The runoff is on June 27th and we need to juice Jamie as he heads into the fight of his life. They may attempt to use military force to invalidate our win but we can’t let their threats hold us back. If Jamie takes this Senate seat, in MAGA's own backyard, we collapse their movement and reclaim the US Senate. 

The miracle on the Mississippi is coming in 5 days and not even men with guns can stop it. Jamie is predicted to win.
