The title of this message says it all. Pull out all the stops in
building the Sept. 5-6 Schiller Institute video conference, War
Drive Towards Armageddon Or a New Paradigm Among Sovereign Nations
United by the Common Aims of Mankind? The call last night featured
major status reports on the organizing, and enterprising use of
Facebook, Twitter, and other social media to generate large multiples
of outreach. Get immediate RSVPs so that people get regular updates on
speakers and topics so they in turn intensify outreach over the next
11 days.
The four panels over the two days will cover the strategic
overview; frontiers of science and technology; the World Land Bridge
and physical economy; and a world cultural renaissance. One of the
speakers on the call aptly summarized the conference as a whole, as
"the Science of the Common Aims of Mankind".
See today's LPAC Video Update from Harley Schlanger for an
effective 10-minute presentation of why maximum participation in the
conference is imperative:
Don't Get Distracted, The Major Issues Remain the War Danger and the
Collapse of the Financial/Economic System.

SCHILLER INSTITUTE NYC CHORUS PRESS RELEASE
When a War Song Sues for Peace
2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. Since
music is the universal language, what better means to celebrate the
defeat of fascism than to sing the songs that inspired populations to
seize that victory at that time?
Of the nations of the Alliance, Russia (the Soviet Union) and China
suffered the greatest losses of population: 27 million people in The
Soviet Union and 20 million people in China died. The Schiller
Institute NYC Chorus recorded a virtual performance of the Russian war
song "Tri Tankista" (Three Tankmen) for the occasion of V-E Day on May
8, 2020 and received many heartfelt responses from the people of
Russia.
Now we present "Defend the Yellow River" as our gift to the people
of China in tribute to their contribution in the war against fascism
in Asia, observed on September 2, 75 years ago.
This song is one movement of "The Yellow River Cantata" written in
1939 by a beloved Chinese composer Xian Xinghai, a setting of a
patriotic poem by Guang Weiran.
Our chorus is a true American chorus, comprised of individuals from
many different cultural and national backgrounds, brought together in
the love of music. We sue for peace, when all nations can combine
their efforts for the good of the only true race, the human one.
