Taken from the wild to live behind glass. This is completely unethical and is a cruel existence for these wild animals.
Dear John,
I urgently need your help to protect sharks, octopuses, rays, fish and other marine animals from spending a lifetime in cruel captivity.
And we only have 3 days left to make that happen.
We have an amazing opportunity to go undercover at a company which captures animals from the wild, and ships them around the world to be held captive in cruel aquariums.
But to do so we need to first secure funds to fuel this first-time-ever investigation.
John, I am not actually asking you to donate today. I am asking you to simply make a pledge of a donation, for £100 or more to donate at Christmas time.
Your pledge will help us qualify for The Big Give Christmas Challenge. This Challenge is a campaign that takes place in December and matches people’s donations to charity! This means their donations will be doubled by the Big Give and we can raise even more for animals!
But to qualify for this challenge we need to raise a total of £2000 in pledges from kind supporters like you by 5pm THIS Friday 28th August.
Can you make a pledge of compassion, of £100 or more today? You can do so here: www.freedomforanimals.org.uk/the-big-give-2020
We are aiming to raise £8000 over the days of the challenge to fund this ground breaking investigation into the deep and murky trade in animals for aquariums. But we need to secure this £2000 first!
Because the awful truth is that animals are being taken from the wild in their droves to stock these tanks. The vast majority of animals in aquariums will not breed in captivity. So in order for an aquarium to have a colourful display of tropical fish, animals are kidnapped from their wild homes, the delicate ecosystems they live in, and shipped across the world in awful conditions.
Many animals are shipped in plastic bags and can be trapped like this, sometimes for DAYS on end. On journeys that can travel over multiple countries by land, air and sea. To be delivered at the aquarium... if they survive the journey.
All to entertain customers at UK aquariums.
Will YOU make this investigation happen? Will YOU take action in a world first, to expose and put a stop to this barbaric trade?
