JOHN,

This week, the Pentagon told Congress it needs about $80 billion to pay for the war in Iran.

Not $80 million! Billion. Most of it for a single war that Donald Trump started on his own authority and that Rob Wittman voted to continue.

That bill will land on you, JOHN.

Here's what all that money bought. Fifteen Americans in uniform killed. Hundreds more wounded. A fighter crew shot down over Iran. And a deal that leaves Iran's nuclear program right about where it started, frees up billions in frozen Iranian cash, and reopens the strait whose closure ran up your gas and grocery prices in the first place.

A war started by one man and paid for by you. If this angers you as much as it does me, I’m asking you to chip in to my campaign so I can go to Washington and bring accountability to this reckless administration. [ [link removed] ]

The part that makes me angriest is that, when FINALLY faced with a War Powers Resolution, Rob Wittman voted to let this war keep running.

He backed the tariffs that drove up what you pay at the register.

And he voted for the bill that cuts $698 billion from Medicaid coverage, as many as 250,000 Virginians could lose, to help pay for tax cuts.

Higher prices. Less health care. And now an $80 billion war bill. That's the deal, Washington, and Rob Wittman is offering this district. So when that war-funding bill reaches the floor, ask yourself why he’s asking you to foot the bill.

I flew F/A-18s off a carrier deck for 21 years — the same jets we sent over Iran. I know exactly what these missions cost, in dollars and in lives. And I know none of this happens without a Congress willing to rubber-stamp it.

If you've had enough of footing the bill for wars you didn't choose, while your health care gets cut to pay for them, chip in $21, one dollar for every year I wore the uniform. [ [link removed] ]

I flew those missions. I'll answer for the cost. Sadly, Rob Wittman never will.

Thank you,
