Happy Pride Month!
As we step into this vibrant and vital time of year, we celebrate all of the LGBTQIA+ members of our St. Louis community and across the country who enrich our lives every single day.
But, John—Pride Month is not just a celebration; it is a commemoration of a struggle. This is the result of organizing, uprising, and activism rooted in the Stonewall Riots. We must never forget that Pride started as a protest against police violence and LGBTQIA+ discrimination. And fifty-seven years later, we are still fighting the GOP’s extremist efforts to restrict the rights of our LGBTQIA+ community.
I, for one, have made it my mission to fight every day to reject the GOP's attacks against the LGBTQIA+ community and push for a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.
In Missouri and across the country, we are witnessing a terrifying rise in anti-trans legislation and hate crimes. But our movement is a movement of love that protects all of humanity, and together, we are advocating for policies that proudly declare that Trans Lives Matter and Black Trans Lives Matter. I will keep emphasizing the need to protect and uplift these communities, because every person has the right to live their life as their true, authentic selves.
Our collective fight for justice and freedom is why I support H.R. 15, the Equality Act, which seeks to provide consistent and explicit anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQIA+ people across key areas of life. When I was in office, I led the push to finally certify and publish the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment), striving for constitutional recognition of gender equality—and I will continue to do so when I’m back in office.
Can I count on you to donate to my campaign today, so I can continue to lead the charge for equality and advocate for our LGBTQIA+ communities in Congress?
