I have been saying no a lot lately. Senate Republicans need to hear it.

As Donald Trump continues to wreak havoc on our democracy, my colleagues on the other side of the aisle keep enabling him.

They gifted another $70 billion to ICE and Border Patrol. They’ve proposed a $1.5 trillion defense authorization bill.

Meanwhile, there’s $0 for daycare or healthcare.

$0 to help you with soaring costs caused by Trump’s illegal war.

It’s outrageous. Enough, Donald Trump is not a king.

This is not the time to look the other way and hand a wannabe dictator a blank check to continue abusing our military however he wants.

I worked hard to secure several provisions that support our servicemembers, strengthen our national security and invest in Illinois, but I cannot rubber stamp the largest defense authorization bill ever proposed in our nation’s history with zero oversight.

It’s time for us to use every tool at our disposal to put a stop to their extreme agenda. That’s why I voted NO.

I will always hold the Trump Administration and their enablers in Congress accountable for their abuses of power, but my work is only possible with your support. If having an advocate in the Senate who will speak truth to power is meaningful to you, I am humbly asking you to chip in whatever you can afford today to help me continue to do just that.
