Hi John,
DxE activists studying at UC Berkeley infiltrated a major supplier of the university and found piglets squealing as they were smashed beneath their mothers, as well as pigs with bloody sores and rampant disease. They did fecal tests at the farm and found Streptococcus Porcinus, a zoonotic infection that causes pneumonia, meningitis, and miscarriages in humans. Now, these activists are launching a campaign to ban meat at UC Berkeley and prevent the next pandemic.

I’m grateful that when I went to UC Berkeley, I was able to attend classes in person. Now, Zoe and my other friends at UCB are having all their classes online because of the COVID-19 pandemic -- and all of us are facing a very uncertain future. UC Berkeley is supposed to prepare its students for the future, but instead it is funding the very industry that is destroying our future: animal agriculture.
Our education system needs to do better. Our public health system needs to do better. Our food system needs to be radically transformed. And if these systems aren’t going to protect us, then it’s up to us. That’s why DxE is taking bold action to expose animal abuse, confront powerful institutions like UC Berkeley, and create revolutionary social and political change for animals.

Until we abolish animal agriculture, no one is safe -- least of all the animals.
