Next course starts Autumn 2020

An analysis of businesses that have enrolled on the programme up to December 2019 shows that nearly 50% of SMEs across the Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) area do not have a sustainability policy. While this is just one indicator of practice, it represents a significant area of development and opportunity for local small and medium-sized businesses.

This course has been developed to support managers and employees within local small businesses. Participants will learn how to enhance their personal appreciation and become a change-maker, post-COVID-19, in their own life and work.

By taking part in this training, you will gain an understanding of:

  • how climate and COVID-19 bounce off one another
  • how business is affected by the climate, and vice versa
  • the impact different sectors such as food and drink have on our climate, and vice versa
  • climate change mitigation tools for your role at work or/and business function
  • recovery and change strategies
  • solutions with the highest impact: in your personal life and in your role at work
  • the different options with regards to contemporary economic theories on how SMEs and individuals can rebuild post-COVID-19 by doing things differently and adopting a more sustainable approach

To express an interest for you or your colleagues to take part, email [email protected] for information on securing a place on upcoming dates.

Are you recruiting?

If you're looking to fill positions this autumn or for Xmas, watch this space...

Every September, Nottingham Jobs and our partners Futures and the Department for Work & Pensions usually hold our big annual jobs fair, but with things being a bit different this year, we're doing something different too.

We're busy securing premises in Nottingham city centre to set up a 'pop-up' shop where job seekers can safely pop in for advice and to find your vacancies.

Would you like to join us?

You're invited to book in to come along to the venue to meet potential candidates, safely of course, speak to people about your needs and your business, or simply make use of the venue to advertise your current vacancies and upcoming job roles. There will also be opportunities to take part in social media events, tailored to your needs as an employer.

We'd love to tell you more but we're busy working on the details so all we need from you right now is to let us know if you're interested in joining us.

We'll share more information when we can but if you want to get in quick, or you've got a question for us, email?[email protected]?or call 07483 391562.
