There’s no other way to put it, John. Vote by mail is under siege all across the country. 

While our elected leaders should be doing everything in their power to make it easier and safer for people to exercise their right to vote during a pandemic, this unhinged president and his enablers are endangering lives.    

These blatant voter suppression tactics undermine voters’ rights and sow distrust in our elections. Right now, information about the voting process is critical, and people are rightfully concerned about receiving accurate information about how to vote safely.

Trump donor and US Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy, testified in Congress today about the actions he’s taken at the USPS. Matthew Titolo, law professor and expert on the Postal Service, had this to say about DeJoy’s testimony:  

“The answers he is giving do suggest either a potential stonewalling about what’s happening or that there is not a lot of operational knowledge.” 

John, this is sabotage. The USPS is now warning numerous states -- key swing states, of course -- that these delays mean ballots may be delivered too late to be counted. 

Voter suppression tactics aren’t new, but this is an astounding level of corruption intended to sow confusion about the election results. While the GOP controls the Senate and enables this out of control president, we must do everything we can to make sure everyone who wants to vote can do so safely.
