Happy Father’s Day, folks!

I’ve been a brewer, a geologist, a mayor, a governor, and a U.S. senator. But by far the best job I’ve had is being a dad.

Being a dad to two extraordinary sons isn’t something I take for granted. My dad lost his battle with cancer and died when I was just eight years old.

Like so many who have lost a parent, Father’s Day has always been bittersweet for me. But the chance to spend time with my boys isn’t something I’d miss.

Everything I do is for my sons and the hope that their future will be better than the division we’re living through today. My dad used to call us kids his jewels. Now that I’m a father, I get what he meant. I'm the luckiest dad in the world, and I am so blessed to watch my boys grow up.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers and father figures. It’s the best job in the world!
