In the last year alone, millions of Americans had their congressional representation completely upended. We can thank Donald Trump for manufacturing this gerrymandering crisis.

Power-hungry politicians have unleashed an unprecedented wave of mid-decade map redraws to try to cement their grip on power. They did this all because they believe they have the right to choose their voters rather than voters holding the power to choose their elected officials.

This isn’t just bad for fairness — it’s creating mass confusion and voter fatigue. In some states, people cast votes in primary elections for districts only to have their duly-cast votes later wiped out in a last-minute gerrymander.

To some extent, chaos is the point. These lawmakers have shown us they aren’t concerned about whether these voters participate in elections, as long as the end result helps them politically.

Redistricting Action isn’t just here to fight for fairness in democracy — our mission is to make sure voters everywhere have the tools they need to exercise their rights. The next five months will require a massive voter education campaign to make sure Americans know where to vote and what's at stake in November. Can you pitch in to help fund this critical work?
