Today is Father’s Day. I wanted to take a moment to talk about one of the
most important people in my life — my dad, Arthur Pappas.

I started working alongside my dad when I was 14 at our family's
restaurant, the Puritan Backroom. One of his first lessons was that you
should never ask anyone to do something that you aren't willing to do
yourself.
His compassion and selflessness taught me what it means to lead a life of
service — whether it was in the kitchen at the restaurant or in the halls
of Congress.
I know families across New Hampshire are celebrating fathers and father
figures who have passed down those same values through their example and
the sacrifices they make every day.
I'm endlessly grateful for my own dad and for everything he has taught me.
From my family to yours, I hope you have a happy and meaningful Father's
Day.
