Dear Patriot,
They're trying to put an innocent cop in prison for
life. Why? For defending himself against a fleeing suspect who dragged him with a car.
I've been in law enforcement for decades. I've seen the system abused. But what is happening to Officer James Brennand of San Antonio, Texas makes my blood boil, and it should make yours boil too.
On October 2nd, 2022, Officer James Brennand — a decorated Army veteran who swore an oath to protect his community — spotted a car he suspected was stolen outside a McDonald's in San Antonio. He called for backup. He approached the vehicle. He ordered the driver to step out.
The driver's response? He threw the car into reverse and used it as a weapon.
The car door slammed into Brennand. He was dragged. In that split second — outnumbered, without backup, in genuine danger — James did what every officer is trained to do.
He protected himself.
The driver survived. The passenger was unharmed. And since that night, the driver has racked up four more arrests.
Four.
While the man who attacked James faces no meaningful consequences, Officer Brennand has been stripped of his badge, his paycheck, and his future. A politically hungry District Attorney — more interested in headlines than justice — charged James with aggravated assault and deadly conduct. If convicted:
five years to life.
Let that sink in. A man who served his country in the Army, who volunteered to protect the streets of San Antonio, who was dragged by a car in the line of duty — could die in prison.
