Today is the start of the Republican convention. By the end of the week, Republicans will have once again nominated Donald Trump and Mike Pence for president and vice president -- and our country will be faced with a choice.

The choice, simply put, is between division and unity. It’s between the chaos that brought us to this moment, and a better way forward. We will choose between what has defined us over the past four years, and the possibility of all we can still be.

What we’ll see at the Republican convention is the same politics of hatred and division that we’ve come to expect from Trump’s Republican Party. He’s not capable of rising to the challenge of the presidency, and no one around him is willing to hold him accountable.

The contrast could not be clearer with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris -- honest, hardworking public servants. I know that they’re the leaders we need right now. It is an absolute moral imperative that we unite as a party and stand with them to fight the good fight. I’m prepared to do everything in my power to elect our Democratic ticket.
