Tonight, the Republican National Convention will begin in Charlotte, NC and will culminate with the re-nomination of Donald Trump as GOP nominee on Thursday.
Our country simply cannot afford another four years of Donald Trump’s Discrimination Administration. We have seen so much disruption in the last three and a half years, most of it at the expense of marginalized communities. If Trump is re-elected, we can only expect more rollbacks, cuts, and attacks on transgender people and other vulnerable communities.
That’s why we need your help now. Can you contribute $20, or whatever you can today, to help us defend transgender rights now and in the election? Our futures depend on it.
Last week we saw a unifying message from Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris that laid out a platform that will put our country back on track and with a bright future ahead. The Republicans have simply recycled their 2016 platform, ignoring a world that has drastically changed over the last four years. There is no mention of COVID, the focus on white supremacy sparked by the Black Lives Matter movement, or the risk of foreign influence in our elections.
This weekend, the Trump campaign released a 50 point plan for his possible second term. It doesn’t mention transgender issues once. But, they do want to build a moon base...so, there’s that?
There is too much at stake this year. We cannot allow Donald Trump and the GOP the opportunity to continue their attacks on the foundations of our country and its people. We will not stand by as they discriminate against trans people, leave behind those who need the most support, and enact regulations that will only harm.
