John,
So many Americans are totally disillusioned by the politics we’re seeing today.
The vicious, race-to-the-bottom insult fest is great for doom-scrolling, but it doesn’t do anything to help anyone. And the stuck-in-neutral status quo is good for wealthy special interests, but it’s bad for the public interest.
I want to tell you about the kind of politics I believe in. This is a longer message, and at the end I’m going to ask you to donate to support my campaign for governor. If you’re already on board, you can contribute now.

One of my mentors was the late Senator Paul Wellstone, who said, “Politics is about the improvement of people’s lives.”
I truly believe that -- and that’s why I’m going to take these principles into my job as governor:
• I'll get things done. If we want change, we can’t wait for other people to solve our problems.
I will take on the costs impacting people’s lives: health care, housing, child care. In the Senate, I led the fight to take on Big Pharma and allow Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices, and I’m ready to do the same in our state.
• I’ll bring people together. I’ll work with anyone to get things done for the people of Minnesota.
That’s what I did in the Senate, where I was ranked number one for bipartisan bills and number three out of one hundred for getting bills passed into law.
• I’ll stand up for what's right and fix what's wrong. Government should solve problems instead of causing them -- so I’ll transform Minnesota’s government to be innovative, effective and accountable.
It’s not enough to say you’re going to do something. As governor, I’ll measure success by the real results we deliver to make people’s lives better.
To accomplish everything we’re setting out to do, I’m going to need your support. So I’m asking: Will you donate today to support my campaign?

Thank you so much -- I can’t do this without you.
