Hi there –
Today the Campaign for Southern Equality reopened a special grant round to support and celebrate Black-led organizing across the LGBTQ South. Grants of up to $1,000 will support Black LGBTQ organizing projects such as direct action, resilience and healing efforts, direct service, artistic endeavors, bail-out funds, and more.
Click here to nominate a project for the #BlackLivesMatter Southern Equality Fund grant round – and you can nominate yourself. ([link removed]) It’s a simple nomination process with just a few questions so we can route funds quickly to folks doing critical work on the ground.

As our nation engages in a long overdue reckoning around anti-Black racism, it’s essential that Black organizers – especially in the South – have the funding they need to sustain their work and themselves. This is CSE’s second #BlackLivesMatter Southern Equality Fund grant round this summer. In the first round, we distributed $6,000 through 11 grants, funding projects like a queer doula program in Tennessee; a Louisville bail-out fund; and arts programs in the Deep South.
These grants are supported by a generous donation from East Fork Pottery. This summer East Fork Pottery donated a portion of sales to CSE and also hosted an online auction featuring artists and chefs who donated their time and talents to support our work. We’re so grateful that East Fork is showing up in this way, and CSE is honored to put their entire donation to work to support BIPOC-led organizing and people across the LGBTQ South.
We hope you’ll submit your nominations for the #BlackLivesMatter grant round here and help spread the word. ([link removed])
Take care,
Jasmine Beach-Ferrara
