Hey everyone, We have a special project in the works for National Coming Out Day (Oct.11), and are looking for participants. We can’t reveal too many details yet, but our goal is to help support and celebrate those coming out, or those thinking of coming out, and educate families and friends on what comes next. We have space to profile five bold participants who want to come out in a BIG, public way. It could be to a family member, group of friends, coworkers — someone (or ones!) in your life who mean a lot to you. All ages are welcome. We wish we could profile everyone who writes to us, but unfortunately, our spaces are limited. If this does sound like something you’d be interested in, please reach out to us at [email protected], and we’ll provide you with more details. Coming out, or deciding whether or not you want to or need to come out, can be a lengthy and difficult process that takes a toll mentally and emotionally. Coming out is not safe for everyone nor an option that everyone considers. Each of us has a unique experience and different circumstances that determine how we live as our authentic self. We encourage everyone to live authentically by your own terms and put your own safety above all else. We value everything you share with us and are here to provide continuous support. Please visit the Awareness tab on our website for a list of resources, or more specifically, see LGBTQI2S Mental Health Tips for mental health resources. Thank you all, we’re looking forward to hearing back. |
