I’m sure you didn’t have “make your first donation to Sherrod Brown’s campaign” on your to-do list for today. But I want to tell you why it’s worth adding.

Our race here in Ohio – the race that could decide Senate control – is at a tipping point.

Polling shows me slightly ahead of Republican Jon Husted.

Experts continue to shift this race further in our direction, with two separate nonpartisan groups recently moving us to a Toss Up.

And thousands of new supporters are joining our grassroots movement by the day. Seriously, by the time you’re reading this today, 2,102 folks have taken a step to join this team.

But here’s where we’re currently at a huge disadvantage: money.

Husted and dark-money GOP super PACs are pouring $83 million into this race to run misleading attack ads against me and crush our hard-fought momentum. They know that we’re on the verge of flipping this seat – and if we do, we can flip the Senate.

So today, I’m asking you to chip in $5. We need the resources to fight back right now – not weeks or months from now when we might already be overtaken by the GOP’s spending and attacks.
