Happy Juneteenth john,
Nothing says "land of the free" like kicking off the week off with a hearty helping of World Cup, feat. an extra side of fascism and a flaming white supremacist fight night on America's front lawn.
A promotional meme graphic with large yellow text reading “WHERE AM I?” across the top. In the center foreground, Diana Ross as Dorothy from ‘The Wiz’ clutching a small dog looks anxiously toward the viewer. Behind her is a surreal composite scene showing the White House on the left and an illuminated mixed martial arts fight cage with a large crowd on the right, suggesting confusion about being at a political event or sporting match. Freedom Isn’t Free If It Doesn’t Include You, Me, And Where You Pee
The anti-abortion chuds love to say "the most dangerous place for a Black child is in the womb of a Black mother." [[link removed]] They'll spew this BS ‘til they’re blue in the face, all while creating policies that make motherhood feel like one of the original episodes of Fear Factor.
All you have to do is look at the stats to see that these Repro Repo Men don’t actually care about Black mothers. The numbers speak for themselves: Black mothers are far more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes [[link removed]] , the states with the worst maternal health outcomes are also the ones leading the charge on abortion bans [[link removed]] , and 60% of Black women who can get pregnant live in states with abortion bans [[link removed]] . Instead, they continue to find newer, more cruel ways to ban abortion all while using Black babies as props and Black women as punchlines shouted from the center ring of misogyny. [[link removed]]
And Because American Anti-Abortion Extremism Apparently Isn't Causing Enough Damage At Home, They're Exporting It Abroad
This week, actual NJ Congressman and anthropomorphic dog scrotum, Chris Smith flew all the way to fucking LIBERIA to tell their Senate to reject a reproductive health provision that would expand abortion access [[link removed]] . Yep. The same people kicking gold medal goalies out of the country for the color of their skin are literally flying anti-abortion politics across the Atlantic.
That's why this week's episode of Feminist Buzzkills is RIGHT ON TIME!
Illustrated graphic promoting a new Feminist Buzzkills podcast episode. Bright yellow text at top left reads NEW POD THIS WEEK. On the left is an illustrated portrait of Moji Alawode-El with short natural hair and a red top. On the right is Lizz Winstead with long white hair, red glasses, and a blue and teal outfit. Both have yellow name tags below their illustrations. On the right, the Feminist Buzzkills Podcast neon-style logo is prominently displayed against a dark starry background. [[link removed]]
Taja Lindley gabs with Lizz and Moji about reproductive justice and the work of All-Options [[link removed]] , one of the organizations proving that compassionate, patient-centered care is the bare minimum . All-Options is the counter to sketchy anti-abortion fake clinics, which THANK GODDESS, because those places are out of control [[link removed]] .
Promotional graphic for the Feminist Buzzkills Podcast. The podcast logo appears on the left above the words “Special Guest” and “Friday, June 12.” In the center is a portrait of Dr. Jennifer Lincoln wearing a white medical coat. On the right, text identifies her as an OB-GYN, author, and social media educator. Additional text reads: “Dr. Jennifer Lincoln talks about her new book, The Birth Book, AKA a guide to everything you need to know before having a baby.” A banner along the bottom includes a subscribe message, social media icons, and Abortion Access Front branding. Fired up now with no plans to give back today? WE GOT U!
A graphic promoting the Mife Stories project. Against a black background, all-capitalized text in teal and white reads: Your medication abortion story matters, helps, and protects access. Across the bottom of the graphic is a teal strip with white text giving the website where you can submit a story: mifestories.com. There are also the four logos of the organizations working on this project: Abortion Access Front, Shout Your Abortion, We Testify, and Ultraviolet. [[link removed]]
If you’ve had a medication abortion, congrats! You are exactly who we need.
Anti-abortion ghouls are out here lying through their busted teeth to ban mifepristone (mife), trying to eliminate access by mail, and even roll back approval entirely of a medication that has been used safely worldwide for DECADES. So no, we’re not letting that slide.
Your medication abortion story is the reality check to the propaganda driving this hard turn into the 1800s! Drop your story at Mifestories.com, and help drag the truth into the light: mifepristone is safe, effective, and basic healthcare. And we all deserve access.
SHARE YOUR MIFE STORY HERE [[link removed]]
