John,
Netflix is spitting in our faces and calling it rain.
Their film Cuties takes girls as young as 11 and, as their promotional copy says, sees them “twerking their way to stardom.”
Is that even remotely acceptable to you?
MRCTV’s Brittany Hughes, and other alert YouTube creators, rang the alarm about this right away…
And now it’s our turn to TELL NETFLIX THIS IS FLAT-OUT WRONG.

This French-African production, written and directed by Maïmouna Doucouré, is not an appropriate part of some “cultural conversation,” that touchy-feely term many leftists use to describe offensive and sensationalist creations.
This entire concept is shocking. It borders on criminal pedophilia, and it appears to be a brazen attempt to normalize the sexual exploitation of pre-pubescent girls.
As Gary Buechler, of Nerdrotic.com, said in his coverage of this planned September 9th Netflix debut:
“It tries to normalize something that has no business being normalized… It will never be okay, as much as Hollywood wants it to be.”
Many of our friends and loved-ones are responding. As Brittany’s coverage for MRCTV shows, within less than two days of the Netflix Cuties ads debuting, nearly 200,000 people had signed a national petition to tell the corporation to pull this offensive film.
But Netflix doesn’t get it, or, if they do, they’re pretending that the furor is merely about the poster, which included a shocking image, as seen in the background of this graphic:
The Wrap reporter Brian Welk noted on August 20th that Netflix issued a statement about said poster:
“We’re deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for ‘Mignonnes/Cuties.’ It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which premiered at Sundance. We’ve now updated the pictures and description.”
Let’s tell them that’s not the point.

The point is that the film is pushing a disgusting agenda, and Netflix’s OWN PROMOTIONAL COPY and YouTube trailer pushed this vile sexualization of kids, offering copy on its own site that said:
“Amy, 11, becomes fascinated with a twerking dance crew. Hoping to join them, she starts to explore her femininity, defying her family’s traditions.”
And on its YouTube trailer, the Netflix copy read:
“Amy, 11 years old, tries to escape family dysfunction by joining a free-spirited dance clique named ‘Cuties,’ as they build their self-confidence through dance.”
Twerking is sexually provocative. It is not, and never can be, appropriate behavior for an underage girl, and showing it, or promoting it, is tantamount to pornographic and is downright sick.
This film is rated “Mature,” yet exploited underage girls for the production. That ought to tell us something.
WE ARE TELLING NETFLIX THAT THIS FILM IS INAPPROPRIATE AND SHOULD BE PULLED!
