As a reminder, here's what the SAVE Act would actually require:
Republicans aren't asking for a driver's license. They're demanding proof of citizenship – and that means a passport or an original birth certificate with your current legal name.
The problem? A majority of Americans don't have a passport. And for millions of women who took their spouse's name, their birth certificate wouldn't even qualify.
Make no mistake, John: this is another step in the GOP’s calculated ploy to keep the American people from the ballot box.
